  3. 3

Your family must apply for deputyship

They apply to court to be appointed your deputy, and your affairs wait until the order is made.

FAQ

Is the LPA included in the Will package?

Yes. LPA setup is included with every Individual Will.

What is the difference between LPA Form 1 and Form 2?

Form 1 grants general powers using standard wording and can be completed without a lawyer. Form 2 lets you write custom powers and must be drafted by a lawyer.

Who can be my donee?

Anyone you trust who is 21 or older, not an undischarged bankrupt for property matters. You can appoint a replacement donee in case your first choice cannot act.

Who certifies an LPA?

An accredited medical practitioner, a practising lawyer or a registered psychiatrist confirms you understand the LPA and are not under pressure. Alps Wills® works with an accredited certificate issuer.

Can I cancel my LPA later?

Yes. While you still have mental capacity, you can revoke your LPA by notifying the Office of the Public Guardian.

What is the LPA Form 1 fee in 2026?

Singapore Citizens can apply for an LPA using Form 1 free of charge, according to the Office of the Public Guardian. Other applications follow the OPG fees table, and the certificate issuer charges a professional fee.

LPA vs deputyship: what is the difference?

With an LPA, the people you chose act for you. Without one, your family must apply to the Family Justice Courts to be appointed deputy, and the court decides who acts and how.
