Understanding the Requirements of a Valid Will
To be valid in Singapore, a Will must meet the following requirements:
Must be in writing.
The testator (person making the Will) must be at least 21 years old.
The testator must sign the Will at the foot of the document.
The testator’s signature must be witnessed by at least two (2) witnesses, and both witnesses must sign the Will in the testator’s presence.
When in doubt, always seek guidance—education matters, exposure helps, but experience matters most.
